The city is connected well by various mode of transportation like
bus service, train and metro services.
By Air
The city is well served by its own international airport with regular
direct flights from European destinations. Those who prefer to travel
via London Heathrow Airport are able to continue their journey to
Cardiff by high-speed intercity train or coach.
There are many worldwide connections to Cardiff using transfer airports
such as Amsterdam, Brussels, Paris, Dublin, Glasgow, and Manchester.
The airport is 19km outside Cardiff city centre. Taxis or a railair
coach service which runs approximately hourly between 07.00 and
19.00, take visitors to Cardiff City Centre.
By Road
Being located right on the national motorway system, it is well
connected by The M4 that runs through the north of the city, making
London a comfortable drive away. From the Midlands, the North of
England and Scotland it is a straightforward drive via the M6, M5
and M50/M4. From the South and South West of England, the approach
is by M5 and M4. Access from West Wales is by M4.
National Express provides a nationwide network of express bus services
linking major cities and towns in Wales. Many services have been
upgraded to Rapide specification, with on-board washrooms and light
refreshments available. They operate daily express services linking
Wales with the main UK airports and around 1,300 destinations around
England, Wales and Scotland.

By Rail
The city is just 2 hours from central Paris, with trains
running every 30 minutes taking 1,30 hours from Marseille, 3 hours
from Lille, 5 hours from London by Eurostar, and there are also
TGV services to/from Chambéry, Annecy and Brussels.
France's high speed TGV train lines firmly place Lyon area right
at the heart of Europe, there are two stations located in the city
center (Part Dieu and Perrache) and one station at the airport (Lyon
Saint Exupéry),
The TGV station at Lyon Saint Exupéry facilitates air-rail
connections, especially with Paris Charles de Gaulle and the cities
of Annecy, Chambéry, Grenoble, Lille and Marseille, putting
Lyon within easy reach of the main cities in France and Europe.
