Where to go
Ontario, is one of the most heavily visited place of Canada.
There are three major attractions which are the main draws,
Toronto, country's largest city and business capital, Niagara
Falls, an awe-inspiring experience, and Ottawa, Canada's official
capital and a historic city. But Ontario also has much more
to offer than these. You can travel around the lush timberlands,
the mystic north of Lake Superior, or cruise through those landscape
lakes and rivers in Algonquin Provincial Park. Theatre enthusiast
will enjoy Shakespeare at world renown Stratford. Enjoy the
serene waterfalls in the wilderness or go trekking in Louth
Falls, Ball's Falls or Beamer's falls.
Shopping
Pack your bag and join Toronto's one hop shop ground-Bloor-Yorkville
district. Bohemian hippies used to rule this place once, now
BY district is a fashionable supermarket of chic boutiques,
speciality shops and latest designer fashion range - be it Armani,
Prada, Chanel, Cartier or Tiffany. Or pick from nearly 300 unique
shops at the Toronto Eaton Centre -An elevated, three-block-long
emporium.
Discover the bustle of international Chinatown, the cafés
of lil Italy and enjoy the lively ambience of St. Lawrence and
Kensington markets.
Opening Hours
Stores in Ontario are open by 10 am. Some shops (like wine
restaurants etc) might be open till 9 pm but most of the shops
shuts down at 6 pm. Grocery stores are open for 24 hours. During
summer times opening hours stretch more. The post and telegraph
office generally closes at 5 pm in the evening and banks by
4 pm.
Means of Payment
Usage of most common credit cards like Visa, Master Card
or American Express is common in Ontario. You can carry some
Traveller's Cheques also in small denominations. Traveller's
checks are generally accepted like cash and have the benefit
of being insured too.
But it is better if you carry some cash also, especially if
you want to travel into more rural areas. There in small shops
they do not accept credit cards and local only cash counts American
Dollars are not accepted in rural areas and also in other parts
of the country.
US dollar are only accepted in US border.
