Location: 48 km (30 miles) from the main city.
Malpensa has undergone an extensive renovation program and
has emerged as Milan's new international center. In 1998 the
renovated Terminal 1 was opened, which was designed to handle
24 million passengers each year, extensive car parking facilities
have been provided and a speedy rail link to the city became
operational in 1999. The old terminal, is eight minute bus
ride away, and has been renovated and named Terminal 2.
AIRPORT FACILITIES
Eating and drinking:
There are bars, a cocktail lounge and restaurants inside the
airport. The restaurants serve good quality scrumptious food.
Shopping:
There are numerous shops at the airport together with the
duty-free shops. Passengers can buy the following Italian
products: Clothes, jewellery, perfumes, liqueurs, and precious
traditional food products.
Parking:
Terminal 1 has a multi-level garage and a long term parking
area. The garage is suitably situated for the terminal; the
long term park is slightly further away.
There are also drop-off/pickup areas close to the terminal.
Terminal 2 has its own parking space with a capacity to hold
3,000 cars.
Other facilities:
Conferences and Business:
The business centre run by Eurochange provides business travelers
services including workstations, fax, photocopier, personal
computer, videoconferencing, Internet access, translation
service and mobile phone hire. Conference rooms, with facilities
for a maximum of 14 people, can be reserved in advance. Club
SEA lounges offer business facilities to their members. Meeting
facilities and a fully operational business centre is also
accessible at the First Hotel Malpensa Airport.
Disabled Facilities:
Assistance for disabled passengers is readily available at
the airport. They just need to inform the concerned authorities
at the time of reservations. Special parking area is reserved
for the disabled at both the terminals. There are lifts and
ramps for access, as well as disabled toilets and telephones
in both terminals.
