Madrid often addressed as Spain’s financial
and political capital, is home to the Parliament and the Royal Family
and boasts of its extraordinary cultural riches of the so called
‘Golden Triangle’; the Prado, Reina Sofia and Thyssen
museums. Madrid is the centre of Spain and therefore it is the centre
of fashion, art, leisure and culture. With a population of over
three million, Madrid is Europe’s fourth largest city. All
regions and nationalities inhabit the city.
From international fairs to domestic markets, Madrid is the perfect
city in which to search and find. The culinary variety is truly
impressive; Madrid offers traditional, regional and international
cuisine.
Walking through any of the many parks or just wandering in the
city, looking at buildings and monuments, the people will not be
disappointed with Madrid. You can even go to any of the neighboring
historical cities, such as Toledo or Segovia. All are less than
one hour from Madrid.
One of the city’s main attraction are its inhabitants with
an infectious thirst for street fiestas and not to forget the thousands
of bars, clubs, restaurants, cafes and chiringuitos, which transform
the streets into hubs of buzzing activity throughout the night.
Within a relatively small radius of the city lie such national treasures
as Toledo, El Escorial and Segovia offering some breathtaking attractions
and sights.
The city center and most of the key attractions including some large
parks are easily explored on foot.
