The name "Canada" originates from
the Huron-Iroquois word "kanata," it means a village or
settlement. Until now there are more than 30,000 Inuit native people
living in the area of Arctic Circle.
With its age old history, multi-cultural hospitable
people, incredible landscape and natural beauty, Canada offers you
loads of well-known attractions, cities, parks and provinces that
make for magnificent destinations whether you're looking for a tour
that's truly inspirational, educational or just plain fun.
Canada is the second largest country of the
world. It is also regarded as one of the most developed economies.
More than 31 million affluent residents of the country enjoy the
best quality of life and culture. The country boasts of its human
capital that continually ranked #1 from the United Nations.
Canada has two official languages, English and French. The stronghold
of the French language in Canada lies in Quebec and more than three
quarter of the population is of French origin. A traveler might
experience all French and no English through the Quebec countryside.
In addition, English is widely spoken almost entirely in the cities
and towns of the Canadian east and also in the Canadian west.

Indian tribes originally inhibited modern
Canada. European explorers (Vikings) first visited Canada in the
tenth century. Since 1496, the English and French kept exploring
Canada. Subsequently France established a colony in Quebec now known
as New France. From 1670 onwards, English settlers also established
colonies.
Due to protest of British colonists, Quebec
was split in 1791 in Upper Canada and Lower Canada (French speaking
Quebec). Both colonies had limited self-government and more or less
pre-democratic structures. Britain also founded the colonies of
Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island, New Brunswick and Newfoundland.
In both Upper and Lower Canada, armed revolts broke out in 1837.
The rebels were defeated.
The upper and lower Canada united in 1841
as the British colony. In 1848, Canada became a parliamentary state
and in the year 1867, the British colonies of Nova Scotia, New Brunswick
and Canada united as Dominion of Canada to form a parliamentary
federation. When the universal suffrage was introduced in 1921,
Canada became a full-fledged parliamentary democracy.
Canada became fully independent in 1931 and
Newfoundland was incorporated into Canada. At the 2004 elections,
the Liberal Party lost its absolute majority, but remains the largest
party. Martin can form a minority government.

Culture and Society
As a result of its colonial history, Canadian
culture has been wonderfully blended by British and French traditions
and cultures. In addition, Canadian culture has been influenced
by American culture due to the close proximity with its people,
ideas and popular culture. By truly embracing these culture and
traditions from British, Americans and French, Canadians have seen
the transformation of a robust and distinct culture with its own
and individual insightful characteristics.
American movie stars, writers, TV soaps and musicians are immensely
popular in Canada, and it is the same there across the border too.
Most cultural ideas of these types are now increasingly common towards
a unified "North America",
