The Province Of Vizcaya:
Spain has an autonomous community of the Basque Country.
Vizcaya lies in the north western part of this community.
Its total population amounts to approximately 1 million people
out of which nearly 30% resides in the capital city of Bilbao.
The spiritual town of Guernica is also located in this province.
Other important towns of this province are: Barakaldo, Portugalete,
Durango, and Balmaseda.
The Bilbao City:
Situated on the bank of river Nervion Bilbao is a major seaport
and industrial centre supporting approximately 30% of the
total population of Vizcaya.
The city has been undergoing some major changes so as to attract
more tourists. These developmental processes are focused around
the new metro system by Sir Norman Foster and, also the Guggenheim
Bilbao Museum by Frank Gehry.
