Rain or Shine Jazz Festival
Shine Jazz Festival will be held February 18-20, 2005. Venues:
Aberdeen Elks, Hoquiam Elks, Pourhouse Tavern (non-smoking),
and the Aberdeen Museum. Bands: Uptown Lowdown, Electric Park,
Hume Street, Big Tiny Little Quartet, Jean Kittrell and The
Jazz Incredibles, Craig Wellington's Dukes of Swing, and Pearl
Django. Please contact the jazz hotline for pricing and more
information. Free shuttle to venues! Come and join us for a
weekend of wonderful jazz music!

April Fool's SR 109 Garage Sale - Hoquiam to Taholah
This garage sale takes place from Hoquiam to Moclips,
along State Route 109. Streets leading off of 109 are also
included. Businesses and residents are all invited to participate.
This is a way for the Washington Coast Chamber to help all
community members. ADVERTISING is provided by the Washington
Coast Chamber.

Grays Harbor Shorebird Festival
The 10th annual Grays Harbor Shorebird Festival promises you
a great nature experience and fun for the whole family. Witness
the migrating shorebirds at Grays Harbor National Wildlife
Refuge. Take part in a variety of events including the shorebird
fun fair, field trips, lectures, exhibitors, vendors, authors,
a poster contest, and banquet. Come, be a part of the celebration!

Cancer Run
Annual run to raise money for cancer. Bring a team, food,
fun and community spirit!
Push Rods Riverside Run & Car Show
Maine's Auto Parts at 2606 Sumner Avenue, Hoquiam and 8th
Street Landing will be host to the big auto show. To register
a ride, pay $15 on day one. Spectators can smash a car with
a sledgehammer, three swings for a buck, eat some kettle corn
and listen to the thunderous roar of a pro-stock racecar.
Food games are all available.

Splash Festival
Aberdeen's Fourth of July Celebration. An all day event that
includes many activities for the entire family. Arts and crafts
are available, food concessions, dance to music, visit their
children's carnival, play games and then enjoy the 20 minute
"Fireworks Extravaganza" over the Chehalis River!
River Festival
The Hoquiam's River Festival kicks off at 8 AM at the Hoquiam
Senior Center with a breakfast, which continues until 11 AM.
At 10 AM, the center of the Festival is at the Hoquiam River
docks. There is a Children's Parade at 10:30 an at 11 AM the
Coast Guard will send one of its rescue boats to the docks
for free tours. And, don't miss the Lady Washington who will
also be at the docks. Other attractions include an open house
and vintage car show at the Polson Museum just across the
river from 11 AM to 4 PM and vendor displays of food, crafts
and novelty items along Levee Street from 11 AM to 4 PM. There
is the River Festival Carnival from 11 AM to 4 PM. Horse rides,
carnival games, and the Trout Unlimited Fishing Pond will
be available for kids to fish in. There is the talent show
at 12:30 PM. At 11:30 and again at 2:00, the Portland Water
Spectacular Show Ski Team will perform on the Hoquiam River.
At 1:30 PM, there will be a walking tour of the historical
signage in Hoquiam. And, at 3:30 PM the annual Hoquiam River
Rubby Ducky Race will begin. The evening winds up with a River
Festival dance for high school kids at the Masonic Temple.
Aberdeen's Art Walk
Come support local artists and raise money for the downtown
area.
Annual World City Day Picnic
Picnic day for the citizens and friends of Cosmopolis.
August
Comcast Outdoor Movie
The Jude Bowerman Band will entertain at this event. Bowerman
has been awarded the prestigious Summy Award for best blues
man and also given accolades by the Seattle Post-Intelligencer
as the "best entertainment at bumbershoot". At dusk
a full-length movie, to be announced, will be projected onto
a giant, inflatable screen.

Hoquiam Logger's Playday
This annual event honors the loggers of this area where their
skills are shared and competition is at its peak. Family fun
for everyone! Food is available all throughout downtown Hoquiam.
Noontime parade is a must! And, don't miss the carnival! Logger's
Playday climaxes at historic Olympic Stadium's nighttime logging
show, which draws competitors from around the United States.
Log rolling, choker-setting, tree-topping, ax-throwing and
other combinations of blades, wood and skill are tested.
Festival in the Park - Cosmopolis
Comopolis celebrates with this family friendly festival.
Harbor Heritage Festival
This celebration is to educate and celebrate the diversity
heritage in our community. Music, food, games and festivities
for everyone! Come one, come all and have a ball! Partnerships:
Dept of Corrections, Port of Grays Harbor, City of Aberdeen,
Grays Harbor County and many more volunteers.

Downtown Trick or Treat
Come with your little goblins and witches to safely trick
or treat in downtown Aberdeen. For more information contact
the Grays Harbor Chamber of Commerce at 800-321-1924.
November
Annual Fireman's Ball
The annual fireman's ball is open to the public. Contact the
Aberdeen or Hoquiam fire departments for tickets. Silent auction
and a live band provide the entertainment. If you are interested
in making a donation for the silent auction, contact Steve
Pratt at 360-532-1254. Proceeds go to the Aberdeen/Hoquiam
firefighters benefit fund. The fund allows the departments
to support local community needs (for example families in
need, burnt out families, etc.)

Winter Wonderland Ball
Dress up or down, it's up to you. Silent Auction benefits
the Aberdeen Revitalization Movement which sponsors downtown
Aberdeen improvements. This event kicks off Aberdeen's Winterwonderland
downtown theme.
